Journal of Physiotherapy & Sports Medicine

The Journal of Physiotherapy & Sports Medicine (JOPSM) is a peer-reviewed international open-access journal for advancing research activities in physiotherapy practice through the dissemination of definitive evidence, translation of clinically relevant knowledge, and integration of theory into education, practice, and research. All content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

The Journal of Physiotherapy &Sports Medicine (JOPSM) is a resource for the dissemination of research-based evidence related to all specialities of physiotherapy. With an international editorial board made up of pre-eminent researchers and clinicians, JOPSM publishes articles of global relevance for examination, evaluation, prognosis, intervention, and outcomes for therapeutic interventions. High standards of quality are maintained through a rigorous, double-blinded, peer-review process by an international panel and adherence to standards recommended by the

International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. 

Through systematic reviews, research articles, case studies, and clinical perspectives, JOPSM promotes the integration of evidence into theory, education, research, and practice of physiotherapy, spanning the continuum from pathophysiology to societal participation. JOPSM supports the ethical principles set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) available here on their website.

The journal is aimed at all those involved in research, teaching and practice within the area of physiotherapy. Papers are invited in the following areas:

Areas that are not specifically identified, but of direct relevance to the practice of physiotherapy, will be covered by guest editorials and/or commissioned reviews as appropriate. Letters to the Editor, book and video reviews will also be included where appropriate. All reviews are subject to a peer-review process. The Editorial Board encourages the submission of articles based on both quantitative and qualitative research designs. The Editorial Board also aims to provide a forum for discourse and debate on any aspect of physiotherapy and sports medicine with the aim of critically evaluating existing practices in regard to the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with neuromusculoskeletal disorders and somatic dysfunction.
